Rocky Vista University (RVU) aims to provide reasonable accommodations for students sincerely held religious beliefs when such accommodations resolve conflicts with educational requirements and do not create an undue burden. Each request for religious accommodation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Students are encouraged to submit all religious accommodation requests for the academic year via the iNET form (https://inet.rvu.edu/home/forms-2/student-religious-accommodation-for-excused-absences-request-form/) during the first week of the semester. Processing requests may take up to two weeks, and failing to submit timely manner could cause delays in implementation.
It's important for students to understand that granted accommodations may require them to make up missed work or repeat clinical placements, which could delay their progress in the program or graduation. If exams or assignments overlap with religious observances, students who provide advance notice following program policies will have the opportunity to reschedule examinations or extend assignment deadlines without penalty.
