Study Abroad/Mission Trips

Students in good academic standing may participate in study abroad experiences or missions trips at the discretion of the Program Director. Any anesthesia cases obtained during study abroad experiences or missions trips will not count toward student case counts. As such, a student may not be able to participate in study abroad or missions trips if they are lacking in required case counts or if the student is at risk of not obtaining COA required numbers for their graduation.

A student will not be required to use permissive time off for study abroad or mission trips experiences. However, if the student elects to take additional time off either before or after the study abroad or mission trip, that time will count against the bank of permissive time off.

Any student who is requesting to participate in study abroad or a mission trip must have prior written approval from the Program Director and the Clinical Coordinator.
