- Students must attend at least one professional meeting, either a state or national association meeting. Additionally, students are encouraged to attend one state legislative day.
- Requests to attend state or national association education meetings must be submitted with complete meeting information, including details about the association, location, agenda, topics, and speakers.
- Professional meetings are not included in permissive time off. The student is allotted two travel days for meetings within the United States. If the student is requesting to use permissive time off either before or after the meeting, this request will be taken from the allotted vacation time and will be subject to the same time-off request as laid out in the policy above.
- Additional state or national meetings will be subject to the discretion of the DNAP administration.
- The administration encourages students to attend more professional meetings than the minimum requirement to support their professional socialization and development.
- Students may NOT request scheduled time off for meetings during periods of remediation or probation or during specialty rotations.
- Travel time and meeting attendance subject to approval by both Program Director and Clinical Coordinator
