The Anesthesia Care Plan is a tool to assist students in gathering past medical history on their patient(s) and tailoring the most appropriate anesthetic care based on information gathered. This reflects the student’s ability to synthesize adequately learned didactic knowledge. It will allow the student to reflect on clinical decision-making and to develop critical thinking skills.
- Each Student must prepare a written care plan for the first assigned case and any complex cases during semesters four and five and present the care plan to the clinical instructor.
- After semester five, a written care plan must be prepared for all complex cases and cases new to the student.
- Students should be prepared to present a verbal care plan for every assigned case.
